Pure.

Attention, attention everyone. Here's your lazy queen of blogging. Yes I've been neglecting my blog. But since Pure London is on, I got some first hand material to blog about, way better than just copy pasting other stuff right?
So, what is Pure London? It is 3 days of UK trade fashion exhibitions presenting womenswear, footwear, accessories, unisex collections and ethical fashion at the Olympia Hall in West Kensington. The event is organised twice a year by the EMAP (East Midland Allied Press) and is the "home to big names, niche brands and launching collections"; there are over 1,100 brands presenting their high street collections in booths, catwalk shows and trend prediction seminars by representatives from WGSN.
I went there with my friends Anna from pulcinellata.blogspot.com and Gentiana from stimulateit.blogspot.com and it was just so exhausting and hectic but it was worth it I suppose. We saw some inspiring catwalk shows and I totally grew fond of a Turkish fashion project which I'll blog about soonish!

C’est la Côte d’Azur, la Côte de saphir.

There's always a ray of hope.
In April I'm going on holidays for 5 days. With my parents. Haha. Yes, I know, stereotypically thinking, I might be too old to go on a vacation with mummy and daddy, but I mean 5 days Cannes, sun, goooood food, relaxing and so on for free. Wouldn't it be silly to not go with them? I just hope that the weather will be good otherwise, I'll die.
Who do I want to take with me to Cannes? Olivier Rousteing. The man who created the wonderful Balmain Spring Ready-To-Wear collection for 2012 and the even better cruise collection - black, blue, white, red and gold - what do we need more? If I could (afford it), I would. And yes I would not only take his clothes with me, but also himself. eye candy.

Joséphine.

Another anticlimax of my laziness? A blog post about my cat? Maybe and yes.

I'm not a cat person. I'm a dog person. But I like cats too. I have a cat and I don't have a dog. But I'd love to have a dog. So yes talking about my fondness to contradiction once again.. Sorry for the confusion.. So, to be honest I really had no idea what to write about, a blog post about my PJ's? No. Since I'm back in Luxo, I'm just vegetating.. I'm sleeping like the sleeping beauty and when not sleeping I'm bored to hell because all my friends are either busy with school or are still abroad at uni and engaged with revising for their exams. Normally I'm just awake for a few hours in the evening. Haha. This sounds so pathetic. But I suppose I'm just retrieving the sleep that I've missed over the last weeks when sleep deprivation (because of uni) and also random insomnia were my best friends.
Another reason for me being very very nonproductive is that there's nothing to do! There's nothing to revise for uni (haha. as if i would..), I can't use my blackberry here because my plan has such stupid rates for data roaming, my macbook refuses to log into our home Internet network (I'm using my neighbour's network), it's fucking freezing outside, my friends are busy, ETC. And therefore, I am dedicating this post to my cat because she's so cool and playing with me (oh dear. did I just really write that?).
So whatever, here she is. Joséphine.

Et vive la liberté!

Fact is, I've survived my first semester at uni. Another fact is, that I haven't got my results yet, but who cares. And a further fact is, end of semester equals holidays! Okay it's just a week, but anyways I'm grateful for that one week of relaxing and of being home! YES, I'm back in Luxembourg since this morning and I'm so happy to be home to see my family and friends and being pampered by my mum :) who doesn't love that, right? Even if I haven't been away from home that long, actually it's less than a month, I feel like I haven't been here in ages. The christmas holidays were so stressful, hectic and short that I wasn't able to unwind..And then, the exam stress, finishing millions of report etc. All this just makes me even more glad to be home.
So yes. This was now my ode to Luxembourg and home haha.
Anyways, so this morning just when I left to catch a taxi to the airport, a friendly DHL man was standing outside my flat with a package. A package from net-à-porter. Yeaahy. My Karl T-shirt has a arrived in a looooovely box with bow. Just another late birthday gift from nikki to nikki. In my opinion it's never too late for a birthday gift and you can never have enough Karl stuff tihi:)

Elie Saab, créateur de rêves.

So, here it is. My last post about the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris. And it's all about Elie Saab and a bit about Jean Paul Gaultier. Actually I don't know much to say about Saab's collection. It's as wonderful as always and there's nothing I could nag about. Except maybe the pastels..maybe it was just a bit too much. Or it's just my dislike of baby blue and pink in connection with lace and flowers. Nevertheless, I'm definitely gonna get married in Elie Saab. Or maybe Gaultier? We'll see..

La Karl Manie.

So, today I was (still) supposed to write my report(s). But how could I if just 4 tube stations away there's the Karl by Karl Lagerfeld collection launch by net-a-porter? So I set a deadline: by 3pm I wanted to have finished the first report and then go to Covent Garden to just have a quick look and see what's going on - Now I'm back from Covent Garden, guess how far I am with my reports? (haha.) Anyways.. So I was following the net-à-porter tweets about the launch which was simultaneously in Paris (where Karl attended the event), London (where I "attended" the event), New York and Berlin (Sydney is joining on Friday) and I was kinda disappointed by the London event. Well not by the event but by the people that were there, it was hardly a crowd compared to the other locations. But maybe it just didn't look like a crowd because the British people were queueing neatly as always! However I got to take some pictures and here they are in addition to some pieces from the collection and impression from the paris launching! Now I'm off to net-à-porter.com to buy something from the collection..and then maybe I'll restart finishing my reports :) In the meantime here's a link to an interview with and by Karl! <http://www.net-a-porter.com/magazine#/127/13">

Compagnie aérienne: Chanel. Pilote: Karl Lagerfeld.

Yes I would definitely book a flight with this airline.
Even though I'm not really impressed by this time's scenery - I'm actually a bit disappointed after the superb Chanel banquet pre-fall 2012 show - I liked it. I mean, I have no alternative but to like it. It's Karl's mise-en-scène and as an immense Karl fan, there's nothing else to do, but to appreciate it. (BTW, tomorrow/later today his KARL by Karl Lagerfeld collection will be launched! :)) But back on topic, what's really bugging me is the fact that I was actually more looking forward to seeing the staging than to the acutal collection. Bad bad girl. I know. But at least I'm honest and I'm pretty sure that there are many people having the same "problem", e.g. my mum! This isn't meant to blame the couture house or the designers, but isn't Chanel always kinda the same? Okay, you might say now tweed is their tradition and trademark and I do love it; timeless and classy, but I don't see it as inspiring, exciting nor challenging anymore. Whatsoever, this was just a sincere thought that came up while I was studying the outfits and I hope I'm not offending anyone, quite the reverse I hope you see what I mean.
Nevertheless, a stunning collection. My personal favourite: the black and white deux pièces - very traditional. Yes, I know,.. the thing that I was questioning just a minute ago. Contradiction is my middle name.

Le noir, le blanc et le rouge interprêtés par Giambattista Valli.

My third post. And I've just realised that I started my first 2 posts with "Okay, blablah". Bad habit. Have to stop it.

So, as promised here's my post about Giambattista Valli's spring/summer haute couture collection for 2012; and I love it! It's all black and white except for some reddish pieces, wonderful pieces like the two gowns below. In my opinion it's just an amazing collection and until now it's my favourite one.. Thumbs up for the Italian designer for this simple but impressive show and many kudos to him as it is only his second haute couture collection: He's definitely made a statement amongst the elite of the usual haute couture designers and I'm already looking forward to his future couture shows, since I actually prefer them to his ready-to-wear collections. Nevertheless, a designer to keep in sight!

L'arc-en-ciel d'Alexis Mabille.

Okay, so first things first, I'm not a fan of colours.
Black, white, beige/brown and a hint of blue, that's what you can find in my wardrobe. Sounds boring but it's all I need and all I love. However, this doesn't mean that I don't like to see colours on other people. Alexis Mabille's Haute Couture Collection for this Spring/Summer is breathtaking and I really enjoyed clicking through the collection on style.com. The huge headpieces, the bright colours and the fine lines even make me reconsider my choice of not liking colours that much. But then on the other side the painted faces: another thing that I deeply dislike. Okay, to be honest I don't have much experience with face painting except my daily make up procedure which I think is not relevant. And of course the tigers or butterflies painted on my face, which I actually hated, during my days as a cutie pie child (again, kind of irrelevant). However, in this scenario the painted faces completely fit in and it's clear that without them the dresses would just not look that fabulous. So if you can afford to buy one of them, don't forget to buy the matching face paint!

L'introduction.

Okay, let's face it. It's a random Tuesday afternoon, it's rainy, I'm wearing sweatpants and it's already dark outside. What am I supposed to do? I should write my report: deadline in 2days. What am I doing? Thinking of creating a fashion/lifestyle blog. Yes another one amongst many. Very clever. I assume it's my current environment. London and all my blogger bitches from uni also known as my friends.
In the beginning, I was resistant.. Everybody was constantly talking about their blogs and promoting them. I became a loyal blog reader to all of them and thought it was interesting sometimes juicy to read them, but I couldn't have imagined myself as a blogger. Sure, I had my tumblr. But tumblr is tumblr and blogspot is blogspot. And now, on this inconspicuous and ordinary day, I became weak and hit the create your blog button. Okay, maybe it's not such an ordinary day, we're in the middle of the Paris Fashion Week, where the  Haute Couture S/S 2012 collections are presented and I'm constantly on style.com to see the new outfits.
And since the launching of a brand new fashion blog is not complete with some fashion photos, here are some impressions of the Christian Dior show from yesterday, more detailed posts will surely be published soon. I can already guarantee one on Karl's catwalk, Alexis Mabille's and most certainly Giambattista Valli's!
